On tonight's show Gordy travels to the LaPorte County Historical Society Museum to learn about a photo contest. WNIT is working on a new documentary, Our Town: Dowagiac and Kelsey will be on with the details. Then a Burlesque group called the dis-Dress Dolls will be on to tell about about a performance coming up at the State Theatre and Gordy visits the Survive Alive House.

The history of a community can often be told in the buildings that remain from years gone by. Gordy traveled to the LaPorte County Historical Society Museum to find out about a photo contest that focus on historical architecture and gave the museum an add source to document history. WNIT has a documentary series called "Our Town" that allows the people of the community to help tell the story. The next "Our Town" will feature Dowagiac, Michigan and WNIT is looking volunteer videographers that will help videotape and tell the story of Dowagiac. You must live or work in Dowagiac to participate. Senior Producer Kelsy Zumbrun will chat with Gordy tonight on Experience Michiana about all the details. Hannah Lindahl Children's MuseumThe Survive Alive House is a tool for the Mishawaka Fire Department to simulate a home and teach school kids what to do in case of a fire. It's been a part of the community for 30 years and there will be a celebration Saturday, May 17th at 1:00-5:00pm at the Hannah Lindahl Children's Museum where the Survive Alive House is located. Gordy took a trip to tour the house and met up with Mishawaka Fire Fighter Brian Linson who is a third generation fireman. Get more info here: www.hlcm.org
