https://facebook.com/RaclinMurphyMuseumOfArtThe brand new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art on the campus of Notre Dame recently opened their doors to the public. Dave had a chance to talk with the museum Director Joe Becherer to find out how they approached the design of the new museum, and how they went to great lengths to make it even more accessible. From it's location at the edge of campus near Eddie Street Commons and free admission, the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art really has opened the door to world class art to the Michiana community.

https://facebook.com/RaclinMurphyMuseumOfArtIn the new Raclin Murphy Museum of Art there are several areas of focus. Kelly met up with Associate Curator Jared Katz to find out more about art from the early Americas and Africa. There is a blend of historic and modern art that tells how things like traditions and everyday life shaped the artistic view of the time. The museum is open Tuesday thru Sunday and is free to the public.

https://facebook.com/RaclinMurphyMuseumOfArtDave took a step back in time as curator Cheryl Snay showed him around some of the galleries that focused on European art before 1900. From sculpture to paintings the art reveals what was going on at the time and highlights the things people found important. Cheryl even showed Dave some works done by Irish artist. It really made him feel right at home. You can too, the Raclin Murphy Museum of Art on the campus of Notre Dame opens the door to experiencing different times and places through art all free of charge.
