- 1.5 cups butter (3 sticks) salted
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 5 cups flour
- 2 tap baking powder
- 1tsp salt
Mix first three ingredients in mixer until light and fluffy.
Mix next three in bowl (dry ingredients)
Add fluffy first 3 ingredients to dry . Blend gently until all mixed.
Flour board and roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into favorite shapes. Place on greased Baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or so. Cookies will appear light in color with a few cracks (Tiny) on top. Do not over bake as cookies will be hard. But they may need a couple mire minutes if you are baking alot at one time
Let cool and spread on icing
Icing recipe:
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup heavy cream
Mix until light and fluffy. May need more or less cream to get to desired consistency. Decorate until cute as a button!!
