Kuukua Yomekpe
African Dancer
Originally from Ghana, Africa, Kuukua has spent much of her time in the Midwest when she came to the US to start college. It wasn’t until her sophomore year that she stared to dance. To learn more about African Dancing, check out the 6-week long class that will be taught at FOCUS Fitness Center in Mishawaka.
Interesting fact: Kuukua is the first black female rector at the University of Notre Dame.

Howard Dukes
Poet
Besides being a staff writer at the South Bend Tribune, Howard writes poetry about his life experiences. He has complied some of them and put together a book entitled, “Will Flo 4- Food”. Howard read one poem that talks about how radiation changed the taste of his food to cardboard. He also discussed why he started the Urban Arts Company.
