John Mishler
Art Sculptor

You may have seen some of John’s sculptures around the city of Elkhart.  One of his sculptures is on the corner of Jackson and Johnson Street.  John uses common metals like aluminum, copper and stainless steel to create his pieces.  His studio is located in the Old Bag Factory and we were able to film him working on one of his future art pieces.

Music Segment

Colin Elliot

He is from the South Bend area but goes to Ball State University.  Currently a junior, Colin is studying in England this semester.  Before he left to study aboard, he performed two of his original songs, “On My Way” and “Till Then” in our studio.

Floyd Gompf
Hand Crafted Furnishings

Wondrous pieces of “functional art” are how I would describe what Floyd creates with junk piled wood. He can take several different table legs and create a whole new end table that you cannot find anywhere else.  Floyd’s furniture pieces are a mixture of colors and textures that will give any room that “warm & cozy” feeling.

Tim Stiffler
Photographer

Since 1983, and going professionally in 1990, Tim has been snapping pictures.  He has a studio where he can create portraits for High School Seniors, families, weddings and freelance work.  Tim enjoys dealing with the images (in Photoshop) more than actually shooting the original image.  He will be showing several examples of his work during his interview segment.

Lorin Hesse & b royalty
Artists

These two artists are having an exhibit at The Spurious Fugitive Gallery and the South Bend Regional Museum of Art now through February 25.  Their work is a combination of these two women’s views of childhood, sexuality and innocence lost.  A unique exhibit, where the artwork sometimes pushes the viewer out of their comfort zone.

**Interesting fact: These two artists did not meet in person until the day of their interview taping, they communicated by phone and e-mail to generate their artwork.**
