He went to school to be a doctor but changed his career path and went towards artist. Not only does Alan Larkin create art but also teaches at IUSB, for the past 30 years. He shared with us one of his projects where he took pictures of people in reenacting costumes and transformed them into colorful paintings. Alan also discussed his involvement with the Fischoff National Chamber of Music's upcoming Winter Gala, Allegro.

Started 35 years ago, Fischoff National Chamber Music Association holds the largest chamber music competition in the nation for young people. Locally these talented young people hold outreach programs in the community for underprivileged children. Ann Divine and Emese Rivera talked about the upcoming Winter Gala that benefits this wonderful program. Save the date to help with the education programs that reach 6,000 children each year!

In our Lake Magazine segment we feature, "Real Men Bake Cake." Robert Elliott from St. Joseph, Michigan (Elliott's) worked in restaurants the whole time he was going to school for a degree in chemistry and biology. With his love of food, Rob decided to open up a bakery. Adam Wiltfang from Valparaiso, Indiana (Designer Desserts) started by learning from an Italian grandma that baked and cooked every time he visited.
