Did you know that the word Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word which means "to yoke" or unify-bind together?  We have the pleasure of having Brooke Cannoot, from the Dhanwantari Center for Yoga & Well-Being, telling us why she began yoga and opened up the center in downtown South Bend.  Our own host, Mark Durocher, will be experiencing a style of yoga with Jamie Robinson, a teacher from the center.  Learn more about the Dhanwantari Center and what they offer at the link below.

1 C. sugar
1 T. baking powder
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 T. cinnamon
2 large eggs
1 1/2 C. sour cream
2 T. softened butter
3 C. apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 C. apple cider

Mix the six dry ingredients in a large bowl. Prep the apples and apple cider in one container and mix the eggs, sour cream and butter in another container.  Mix up the last four ingredients for the crumble. Add the sour cream mixture and the apple mixture to the dry ingredients and fold in just until it is moistened. Pour half of batter into a well-greased bundt pan. Put all of the crumble mixture over it. Pour the remaining batter over the top. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.  Allow the cake to cool for 45 minutes before inverting on a plate.

Claricello, a husband and wife duo, will be providing us with our music for tonight’s episode.  This unique teaming of clarinet and cello gives us an outstanding mixture of musical delight.  Claricello will be performing their rendition of a “Medley from Carmen.”

We found out about our artist, Andrea Harris, through Gallery H in Three Oaks, Michigan.  Andrea says that her artwork threads humanity with the environment and loves the process of creating art that touches the soul of the viewer.  Looking at her portraits, it seems there is a connection with the subject in the painting and the person observing from the other side.  To see more of Andrea’s work and where you can see her work up close, check out her personal website.

We end the show with a trip to Jollay Orchards on Experience Michiana.  There you and the whole family can pick apples, take a hay ride and feed the animals at the petting zoo.  Round up the gang and head to Coloma, Michigan for a full day of fun!
