Kid's Schedule

		PBS KIDS GO! A new educational, multimedia destination specifically created by, for and about kids in their early elementary school years, an audience with limited choices for media that is both entertaining AND educational. With a fun, quirky environment full of surprises, PBS KIDS GO! empowers today's "big" kids to discover themselves, define the diverse world around them, explore new relationships and embrace a love of learning.

		A PLACE OF OUR OWN - weekdays at 6:30am A PLACE OF OUR OWN is designed for parents or anyone else who takes care of young kids: grandparents, nannies, babysitters and home daycare providers. The show covers subjects such as: tantrums, literacy, preventing obesity, speech and language delays. This Peabody Award-winning series combines an entertainment format — the daytime talk/demonstration show — with solid educational information on how young children learn, and what adults need to know to help kids be prepared for kindergarten and beyond.

		ARTHUR - weekdays at 7:00am & 4:00pm This daily half-hour animated series based on Marc Brown's best-selling "Arthur" books focuses on themes and events central to children's lives. Arthur and his friends manage to solve their third-grade crises with imagination, kindness and a lot of humor.

		BARNEY AND FRIENDS - weekdays at 11:30am The lovable purple dinosaur and his young friends share adventures featuring songs, dances and games that make learning fun for children. Barney and his dino-pals, Baby Bop and BJ, introduce a new cast of children and two new puppet characters--Miss Etta Kette, a bird who teaches children about manners; and Scooter McNutty, a squirrel whose mishaps are a result of acting first and thinking later. Stella the Storyteller returns with tales of travel from around theworld.

		BETWEEN THE LIONS - weekdays at 5:00pm BETWEEN THE LIONS opens up a world of literature and learning for children aged four to seven. The series is named for a family of lions--Theo and Cleo and their cubs, Lionel and Leona. Each 30-minute episode centers on a book or other written material that the lions and their friends discover in the library.

		CAILLOU - weekdays at 11:00am Growing up is not so tough--especially with a friend like CAILLOU, a lovable four-year-old with a unique way of relating to the world. CAILLOU provides thought-provoking lessons for pre-schoolers. Combining puppets, animation and live-action with universally appealing situations, CAILLOU's stories address real conflicts typical to a young child's development.

		CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG - weekdays at 9:30am Clifford The Big Red Dog is based on the best-selling children's books of the same name by author Norman Bridwell. Designed for 3-7 year olds, this series focuses on the concepts of playing and working together, and accepting and respecting others as a way of life. Clifford, Emily Elizabeth and their friends face the wonders of growing up.

		CURIOUS GEORGE - weekdays at 8:00am & 3:00pm - Sundays at 7:00am The series is designed to inspire kids to explore science, math, and engineering in the world around them in a fun and entertaining way. Based on the best-selling Curious George books by Margret and H.A. Rey, and narrated by Emmy-winning actor William H. Macy, the daily series expands George’s world to include a host of colorful new characters and original locales, while maintaining the charm of the beloved books.

		CYBERCHASE - weekdays at 2:00pm CYBERCHASE is an animated adventure series that takes kids on a wild ride through cyberspace where they are challenged to use the power of math. Each episode is a thrilling adventure driven by a different math concept-from tackling time in ancient Eygpt to cracking codes in creepy caves. In their quests the heroes rely on their minds, not muscles, to overcome obstacles.


		FETCH! WITH RUFF RUFFMAN *- weekdays at 2:30pm* Part game show, part reality TV, and part spoof, FETCH! WITH RUFF RUFFMAN features real kids, real challenges, real science, and an unreal animated host - a dog named Ruff Ruffman. The series mixes live-action with animation, and breaks the mold with its educational and comical take on America's newest television genre. Targeting six- to ten-year-olds, the series is spontaneous, unscripted, and full of surprises.

		MARTHA SPEAKS - *weekdays at 7:30am & 3:30pm - Sundays at 7:30am* Based on the best-selling children's book series by Susan Meddaugh, the MARTHA SPEAKS animated TV series follows the adventures of Martha, a loveable dog whose appetite for alphabet soup gives her the ability to speak. Using her newfound abilities, Martha gets jobs, wears disguises, foils bad guys, wins contests and orders lots of steaks. A dog's breakfast of messes and hilarious entanglements ensue for Martha, her family and the unsuspecting people of her town who make up the comic heart of the series. Being a talking dog, Martha lives in a vocabulary-rich environment. The educational goal of the series is to bolster the vocabulary of 4 to 7-year-olds within the context of great stories in engaging, comical ways. Around and in between the half-hour's two 11-minute stories are a variety of animated interstitials that reinforce the vocabulary. Sit. Stay. Watch out world; here comes Martha!

		MAYA & MIGUEL - weekdays at 1:30pm MAYA & MIGUEL will chronicle the adventures of 10-year-old Latino twins, Maya and Miguel Santos, as they figure out how to leave their stamp on the vibrant world around them. Featuring their family, relatives and diverse neighborhood friends, the animated program will reflect back to viewers the cultural mosaic that our country’s neighborhoods have become.

		SESAME STREET - *weekdays at 10:00am and 12:00pm* The award-winning series launches its 34th season on PBS with a spotlight on children across the globe. "Global Grover" hosts the presentation of live action films from all over the world and the new animated character "Global Thingy" demonstrates the importance of social reasoning, cooperation, sharing and empathy.

		SID THE SCIENCE KID - *weekdays at 8:30am* SID THE SCIENCE KID is an engaging and entertaining new animated preschool series promoting exploration and science readiness in a kid-friendly way - no lab coats or test tubes here. Sid explores the science of everyday realities that preschoolers face with the help of his friends and family. Sid, the show's energetic and inquisitive preschool star, starts each episode with a new question ("Why are my shoes shrinking?" "Why do bananas get mushy?") and embarks on a fun-filled day of finding answers. Sid's day is full of discovery and wonder. He gets a kick out of putting rolie polie bugs under his magnifying glass or asking lots of questions with his hand-held microphone. Through his adventure, Sid encourages preschoolers to think about how to get answers to their own questions by exploring the world around them.

		SUPER WHY! - weekdays at 9:00am The standout, imagination-stimulating series focuses on the adventures of four fairytale friends who transform into reading-powered superheroes: Alpha Pig with Alphabet Power, Wonder Red with Word Power, Princess Presto with Spelling Power, Super Why with the Power to Read and Super YOU with the Power to Help. Together, they are the “Super Readers”! The Super Readers jump into books (literally) to find answers to everyday preschool challenges and embark on exciting adventures, where they play interactive reading games to overcome obstacles and save the day. In every fantastical episode of Super WHY!, young viewers dive directly into a pop-up story to experience a brightly-illustrated children’s tale brought to magical life.

		WORD GIRL - *weekdays at 4:30pm - Sundays at 8:00am* WordGirl chronicles the adventures of Becky Botsford, a mild-mannered fifth grader who, at the call of duty, transforms into WordGirl - caped crusader and definition dynamo! When there is trouble in the big city, this super heroine-in-disguise uses vocabulary to defeat outlaws bent on "WORD" domination. With the help of her faithful monkey sidekick, Captain Huggy Face, WordGirl spends each episode defeating a quirky cast of misfit bad guys and gals with her uncanny vocabulary skills and superhero strength.

		WORD WORLD - *weekdays at 1:00pm* In WORDWORLD, words are truly the stars of a show. Each episode is a fun narrative built around the WordFriends, who are characters first and words second. WordWorld is a colorful, vibrant, word-rich place where friends have fun and meet challenges in the same way: through WordPlay.

		ZOBOOMAFOO - *Sundays at 8:30am* This groundbreaking energetic series is all about that great moment of discovery when a kid meets an animal for the first time. Using music, songs and sounds from around the world, the series teaches children how to respect and care for the creatures with which they share the planet. ZOBOOMAFO (pronounced zah-BOO-mah-foo) stars the Kratt brothers--Martin and Chris--and a playful and curious little lemur named Zoboomafoo. Through live action and the wonders of puppetry, animation and claymation, Zoboomafoo, “Zoboo” for short, is every little kid’s dream: a wonderful talking animal who’s a special friend.
